Hebels, a renown steel service centre in the Netherlands, has decided to buy Magnelis® steel made via the XCarb® recycled and renewably produced route.

Founded in 1974, Hebels has a long-standing relationship with ArcelorMittal and provides Magnelis® coils and sheets to customers mainly active in the construction sector, producing a wide range of end products such as sectional doors, electrical closures and power cabinets, HVAC and cable ducting.
Thanks to the Magnelis® zinc-aluminium-magnesium alloy coating, Hebels can provide steel products which are longlasting and have a high corrosion protection.
“As more and more of our key customers are looking for lower carbon solutions for their end products, we are now offering our customers ArcelorMittal’s XCarb® recycled and renewably produced low-carbon emissions steel”, says Roel Hendriks, Hebels sales director.
The XCarb® Magnelis® steel is made with at least 75% recycled scrap, and produced from an electric arc furnace (EAF), powered with 100% renewable electricity. The result is a product with a 65-percent lower carbon footprint than steel produced via the traditional blast furnace route. The product is also available with an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) which has been independently verified.
