Independent SCI review confirms Magnelis^® outperforms comparable batch galvanized coatings

An independent review by the UK's Steel Construction Institute (SCI) concluded that Magnelis^® provides greater corrosion protection than comparable batch galvanized coatings and enhanced protection at cut edges through its self-healing mechanism.

New independent validation for Magnelis^®

The Steel Construction Institute (SCI), an independent authority on steel construction in the UK, has reviewed the performance of Magnelis^® compared with batch galvanized coatings.

The review concluded that:

• Magnelis^® ZM310 provides greater corrosion protection than batch galvanized steel with a 55 μm coating.
• Magnelis^® ZM410 provides greater corrosion protection than batch galvanized steel with a 70 μm coating.
• The self-healing mechanism of Magnelis^® provides enhanced protection at unprotected cut edges compared to zinc galvanizing.

These findings further reinforce Magnelis^® as a high-performance metallic coating solution for demanding applications requiring long-term corrosion protection.
