ArcelorMittal Steel Service Centres is proud to support WOLF GmbH in further advancing its path toward more sustainable manufacturing. This collaboration marks a concrete application of our low carbon-emissions steel solutions in the HVAC sector, demonstrating how XCarb® recycled and renewably produced steel can contribute to reducing emissions across industrial value chains.

At the heart of this collaboration is ArcelorMittal’s XCarb® recycled and renewably produced steel, developed with a focus on sustainability and circularity. Manufactured in the electric arc furnace at ArcelorMittal’s Sestao plant in Spain, this steel is made with high levels of scrap and powered exclusively by 100% renewable electricity. The result: a significantly lower CO₂ footprint – just 877 kg per tonne – compared to conventional steel originating from the blast furnace route, which typically emits around 2,570 kg per tonne. These figures are supported by Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and verified through life cycle assessments in accordance with EN 15804 and ISO 14025.
For ArcelorMittal, the partnership with WOLF is a clear example of how sustainable steel solutions can empower forward-thinking manufacturers. "With XCarb® recycled and renewably produced, we are not only promoting the circular economy, but also providing a concrete solution to the challenges of decarbonisation. The cooperation with WOLF shows how CO₂-reduced steel is used in practice", says Anastasiia Zvorykina, Product Development Manager & Sustainable Steel Coordinator at ArcelorMittal Steel Service Centres Europe.
WOLF is offering the XCarb® recycled and renewably produced steel option across a significant share of its ventilation units, including the popular KG Top series. "Our partnership with ArcelorMittal is a milestone on the way to a more sustainable production chain. With the reduced CO₂ steel option, we are supporting our customers in achieving their own climate targets – with reliable proof of CO₂ reduction." explains Martin Wendels, Director Air Handling Division at WOLF GmbH. Customers receive transparent documentation, including technical datasheets outlining both the CO₂ content of the material and the actual savings achieved. This level of transparency, combined with ArcelorMittal’s certified reduced CO₂ steel offer, ensures that end users have reliable, traceable evidence of their sustainability efforts.
This partnership between ArcelorMittal Steel Service Centres Europe and WOLF GmbH illustrates how industrial collaboration, supported by verified data and certified materials, can lead to tangible progress in reducing carbon emissions. By integrating XCarb® recycled and renewably produced steel into real-world applications, both companies are contributing to the development of more responsible and transparent manufacturing practices — aligned with industry expectations and climate objectives.
