Webinar on Magnelis®, flat steel highly protective against corrosion for your buildings, held on 5 May 2021

In association with Steligence®, ArcelorMittal Europe – Flat Products organised a webinar on Magnelis®, our highly protective metallic coating for steel.

Materials play a fundamental role in defining the durability and economic viability of buildings. They can increase a structure’s lifespan and minimise ongoing costs for maintenance.

Magnelis® can do both. A ternary alloyed coating, Magnelis® mixes zinc, aluminium, and magnesium to provide long-term protection against corrosion, even on cut edges. Today Magnelis® is the best-in-class corrosion protection solution for solar mounting structures, buildings, and infrastructure.  Applications already include flooring, roofs and facades, framing and support structures, ceilings, profiled members, and sheeting… And the list is expanding rapidly.

The success of Magnelis® relies on the fact that it offers three times more protection against corrosion than galvanised steel. And it has excellent processing properties which make profiling, bending, welding, and cutting easier.

Magnelis® also has a lower environmental impact than galvanised steels. It can replace unwelded batch galvanised components, simplifying the supply chain.

Magnelis® is available in a wide range of thicknesses and high strength steel grades to suit almost any location and application.

In this webinar, we provided details of the features and performance of Magnelis®. We also presented facts and figures, including field test results from various outdoor locations around the globe. The presentation also showed many of the applications that have been achieved with this highly advanced coating, and the value this product brings to your building projects.
