ArcelorMittal at Intersolar North America

ArcelorMittal participated to Intersolar North America 2015, from 14 to 16 July in San Francisco.

The challenges for solar installations in NAFTA are to ensure cost-effective and very rapid installation, to minimize maintenance costs throughout the life cycle, to ensure durability and reduce the environmental impact.

At Moscone West Convention Center, ArcelorMittal introduced Magnelis®, the best material for steel structures of solar installations (ground mounted or roof top) as it combines:

  • exceptional corrosion resistance, even on cut edges
  • Excellent corrosion protection in soil
  • Excellent abrasion resistance
  • Cost effectiveness

The ArcelorMittal stand offered to visitors the opportunity to touch and feel real steel samples and solar mounting structures.

During the workshop on Cost Reduction Via Tracker Optimization, on Wednesday, July 15, our experts had the opportunity to exchange with engineering companies, EPCs, roll formers and racking systems manufacturers. This session confirmed the real interest of all the stakeholders of the value chain towards Magnelis®, as a cost-effective alternative to traditional zinc coatings or aluminium.

Mounting structures using better performing steels and advanced coatings such as Magnelis® lead to lighter and cost competitive solutions, quicker to install and more durable, with a reduced maintenance cost throughout their life cycle.
