Gaz Cartridge

Important specification
  • Formability and low anisotropy for the body
Recommendation

The body of a gas cartridge is deeply drawn and requires a design grade with low anisotropy.

Pressure resistance is mainly provided by the bottom. The exact resistance provided comes from a combination of the packaging steel’s thickness and hardness.

For the can bodies, the market requires lower strength grades such as TH340. TH340 also exhibits low-earring properties.

For the bottom, higher strength grades such as TH435 are used.

Coating: Tin coating (around E2.0/2.0).

Chromium passivation (P300) can be utilised to optimise lacquer adhesion.
