Smooth as a mirror
ArcelorMittal broadens its hot rolled pickled steel range with ¼ EN10051 thickness tolerance.
Offering more flexibility and a wider choice of products to our customers is a constant concern at ArcelorMittal. That is why we constantly develop new products and extend our range of existing products. With our new hot rolled pickled steels with tighter thickness tolerances up to 1/4 of EN 10051 norms, we allow our customers to reach their most precise applications requirements.
Product range
We offer a wide range of structural and high strength, low alloy steels as well as some specific dual phase, ferrite-bainite and high carbon / case hardening grades produced by our hot strip mills in Ghent (Belgium) and Sestao (Spain). The complete list of grades can be found in the below promotion kit.
Dimensional range
- Thickness: 1.1-12.7 mm
- Width: 600-1900 mm
- Coil weight: max. 30.5 tons
Applications
The EN/4 thickness tolerance is particularly suitable for precise mechanical machinery applications such as:
- Profiling applications
- Tubing applications
- Furniture, racks, shelves
- Automotive parts like gear box and transmission elements, seat tracks, parts for brake linings
- Wheels
Benefits of our EN/4 tolerance offer
- Consistency of thickness ensures smoother processing
- Uniformity of mechanical, chemical and geometrical properties ensures less re-working, leading to a cost effective solution
- High quality and ease of processing for consistent quality of components, even for the most precise applications
- Weldable by all conventional methods, which means it can be processed in the same way as similar cold rolled materials
- Especially suitable for repetitive processes
