Properties
This range of steels is in compliance with EN 10149-2:2013. They are commonly referred to as high strength low alloy steels (HSLA).
All the grades are micro-alloyed steels with a low carbon content and are characterised by guaranteed minimum yield strength, controlled metallurgical purity and a fine grain structure.
Advantages
High strength low alloy steels combine excellent mechanical properties, such as durability, fatigue resistance and impact resistance, with good formability and weldability. They are an excellent choice where weight reduction is a priority. Because of their high yield strength, they are frequently used as an alternative to structural steels.
Applications
High strength low alloy steels are mainly used in the construction of bridges, containers, pylons and other architectural structures.
