ArcelorMittal participated to CWIEME 2015, from 5 to 7 May in Berlin to present its broad range of electrical steels and its R&D capabilities to develop the electrical steels of the future.
At CWIEME 2015, ArcelorMittal presented its broad range of steel grades with specific magnetic properties, including:
These magnetic materials are used in domestic appliances, building industry, mechanical engineering, electrical equipment, motors and generators, and of course the automotive industry.
This year’s edition was the opportunity to meet the industry leaders and discuss the latest trends and needs in electrical steels. The new European energy efficiency targets taking force in 2015 push the whole industry towards higher efficiency electrical machines and transformers.
To respond to this evolution, ArcelorMittal provides the best low-loss non oriented electrical steels on the market, a range of innovative electrical steels for the automotive market, and specific grades of grain-oriented electrical steels for transformer manufacturers.
Furthermore, to anticipate and respond to the market needs, ArcelorMittal research and development teams bring their expertise in high performance electrical steels since 30 years, with dedicated specialists for each aspect of electrical steels: texture, structure, coatings, magnetism, mechanical behaviour including fatigue, punching and machine assembly techniques.
This allows us to develop the next generations of low loss, high permeability electrical steels and optimize the performance of production lines such as our new annealing line of Saint-Chély.
Thanks to in-house developed advanced magnetic characterization equipment, and unique devices such as the annealing process simulator (RAPS), ArcelorMittal research and development helps our customers to optimize the design and the manufacturing of their machines.
Today, ArcelorMittal has 10 major co-engineering and co-design on-going programs with the major producers of high efficiency electrical machines.
CWIEME Berlin is the world’s leading event for coil winding, electric motor and transformer manufacturing technologies.
Now in its 19th year, CWIEME Berlin 2015 will host over 750 leading suppliers providing components and solutions to global manufacturers from across the automotive, energy, electrical and electronics sectors.
Over 6,500 key buyers and decision makers attend CWIEME Berlin to meet new and existing suppliers, discover new products & solutions, network with industry peers and stay up-to-date with industry trends.
