ArcelorMittal at Wind Power Romania

15-16 January, 2013 - Bucharest (Romania)

ArcelorMittal attended the Wind Power Romania conference held on January 15th and 16th in Bucharest, aiming to show the readiness and willingness of domestic manufacturing players to bring better competitiveness to the wind industry.

ArcelorMittal improves continuously its ability to serve the wind turbine market by adapting its production to the industry specific requirements as well as improving the quality and delivery services for its customers.

“We have adjusted our production processes and quality inspecting facilities to match the requirements of wind power industry. We have ultra-sonic testing laboratories as well as special quality surface and flaw detecting teams which enable us to adjust the parameters of our Plate Mills in order to obtain the requested dimensions”, commented Mr Bruno Ribo, Chief Executive Officer of ArcelorMittal Galati during the conference, at the “Localising Supply Chain” seminar.

Also, customers benefit from short delivery times for the quantities ordered, tailored logistics solutions and a strong proactive communication system for checking the status of the orders.

As a local steel producer, ArcelorMittal Galati is currently supplying heavy plates for wind turbines manufacturers from Greece, Poland, Czech Republic, Ukraine, India and Turkey.

ArcelorMittal Galati, as a major local energy consumer, understands the importance and supports the use of renewable energy in order to mitigate climate changes and to improve energy security.

National policy and awareness from wind turbine manufacturers regarding local production opportunities will bring better competitiveness to all players involved.
