ECCA celebrates its 50th anniversary
On June 8 2017, in Amsterdam, ArcelorMittal Europe – Flat Products joined the leading figures from across the architecture and construction communities for the European Coil Coating Association's (ECCA) 50th annual congress and conference. The event marked ECCA's 50th anniversary, an organisation that now includes 100 members.
Organised twice a year, the ECCA congress is the opportunity for the key players in the coated sheet metal industry to share new ideas and best practices. This year, the members of ECCA gathered in Amsterdam from June 7 to 9 to attend conferences, presentations and roundtables.
Bruno Chatelain, from ArcelorMittal Liège, gave a keynote speech about our JVD technology and Jetskin®,which is particularly well suited for prepainted applications for the industry and highlighted its advantages compared to electrogalvanisation.
On June 8, an exclusive event took place to celebrate the 50th anniversary of ECCA with many architects in attendance. There were two projects presentations: Copenhagen aquarium by 3XN Architects and Maison Hessel, in Lille (France) by JDS Architects. Worldwide known architect Massimiliano Fuksas also attended the event and gave a presentation on his recent projects.
An exhibition was also organised to show architects all the possibilities of prepainted metal. It featured building solutions in prepainted steel and aluminium such as facades and roofs solutions with rainwater systems from several ECCA members.
The guests were extremely satisfied by the event, especially architects who were very interested in the aesthetics aspect of prepainted metal but also in sustainability.
