  • Our extensive portfolio for wind

ArcelorMittal, a key partner for the wind industry

The ability to produce green energy on a massive scale is a key challenge for a sustainable future and has become a high priority in many countries. By 2030, renewable sources of energy are expected to provide almost 40 percent of the global electricity supply and wind will be one of the main contributors. To meet demand for clean energy, the quantity of wind turbines that must be produced and installed each year will continue to increase at a very high rate. Achieving this production level requires a strong supply chain, and high quality, innovative products.

Steel is used to create more than 80% of the components required to build a wind turbine. Selecting a reliable partner is essential. ArcelorMittal’s steels have been successfully used in the manufacture of more than 10,000 onshore and offshore wind turbine towers since 2005.

ArcelorMittal produces an extensive portfolio of steels which are used in the major components of a wind farm: foundations, tower, nacelle, generator, gearbox, yaw, pitch and mooring ropes.

To introduce all our offers for wind power, we have developed a new brochure, encompassing the products and services of all our entities, including their contact details.

In this brochure, we also introduce XCarb®, our brand designed to bring together all of ArcelorMittal’s reduced, low and zero-carbon products and steelmaking activities.
