Roofs
Steel roofing solutions are growing in popularity as architects, designers and homeowners seek out stylish modern alternatives to traditional materials. But steel roofs aren’t just popular because they are attractive. They are also extremely lightweight, cost-effective, quick and easy to install, and can increase the value of your building thanks to their low maintenance and durability.
ArcelorMittal offers steels which can be adapted to most roofing and guttering applications including:
Profiles and sandwich panels
Whatever type of roofing product you are looking for, ArcelorMittal’s profiled sheets are large, lightweight, easy to install, and very economical. Our sandwich panels offer an all-in-one solution as they are watertight, insulated and ready to install. ArcelorMittal offers organic coated steels which are suitable for these applications.
Recommended products include:
- Granite® HDXtreme (70 and 75 µm paint system). Long durability performance in very severe environments including seaside, with a unique range of colours, aspects, and gloss.
- Granite® HDX (55 µm paint system). Corrosion protection and colour stability for long lasting building systems.
- Granite® Storm (50 µm paint system). Matt highly flexible long lasting coating.
- Granite® Quartz (45 µm paint system). Mineral textured coating with high flexibility and scratch resistance.
- Granite® Standard (25 µm paint system). A quality cost-effective solution for non demanding environments.
- Granite® HD (25 µm paint system). Provides good UV and corrosion resistance.
- Granite® HDS (35 µm). Offers exceptional resistance to photochemical ageing and a range of attractive colours.
- Granite® Flex (25 µm paint system). Has a flexible paint system so you can create complex shapes or small radii.
- Granite® Deep Mat (25 µm and 35 µm paint system). The structured matt surface adds authenticity to the roof.
- Granite® Ultramat (35 µm paint system). Highly flexible matt coating, adapted to cold storage.
Roofing with tile or slate patterns
Steel can easily measure up to tiles or slate for roofing. The wide choice of suitable paints and the intrinsic qualities of the coated steel make it possible to produce traditional roof element shapes using demanding profiling and deep drawing processes.
Lighter than classic ceramic tiles yet very strong, steel solutions offer the same look but considerably simplify the process of building the roof frame.
Recommended products include:
- Granite® Flex (25 µm paint system). Has a flexible paint system so you can create complex shapes or small radii.
- Granite® Impression Cloudy (35 µm paint system). An aesthetically attractive alternative to the traditional Roman tiles common in Southern Europe.
Standing seam roofs
A characteristic feature of standing seam roofing is its linear rhythm. Assembled on site from steel strips, this type of roofing combines sophisticated aesthetics with complex shapes and is ideal for both modern and traditional architectural styles.
Our recommended product is:
- Granite® HFX Cool (55 or 40 µm paint system). An extremely flexible solution which can be processed at temperatures as low as -10°C.
Energy saving roofing
While steel has an important role to play in energy generation applications, it can also help building owners to reduce the energy usage of their construction. We recommend:
- Granite® Comfort (25 µm paint system). A highly reflective solution which resists solar radiation, ensuring that unwanted heat is reflected away from the building.
Rainwater systems
Rainwater systems are designed to be functional, removing water from the roof to keep the interior of a building dry while offering nice aesthetics which match the colour of the roof or building.
Recommended products include
- Granite® Rain HDS (double-sided 35µm/35µm paint system). Offers both quality and cost efficiency.
- Granite® Rain HDX (double-sided 55µm/55µm paint system). Has outstanding weathering corrosion resistance and colour stability.
